If you're considering a visit to First Assembly - New Caney, we want to answer as many questions for you before you ever arrive in the church parking lot! We understand visiting a church for the first time can be overwhelming trying to navigate all the places you need to know. We've answered many of the "big" questions for you here! 1. What should I wear? Something comfortable! If jeans are your first preference, that's perfect! If tennis shoes are your style, that's perfect! If you like to wear a suit and tie, that's perfect! We feel what you wear isn't nearly as important as who you are!2. Where should I park?Click on this map link and now you know where we are! When you visit, you'll have 2 options for accessing our parking lot. We recommend accessing the property from Antique Lane. This will take you immediately to the main parking lot. Once you're in the parking lot, you'll notice the main entrance to the building by the double glass doors with plenty of parking spaces immediately in front of the entrance. 3. What happens when I enter the building?When you enter the lobby area of the building you'll be greeted with smiles and a welcoming handshake. You'll be given directions to our worship sanctuary as well as the nursery, Kaney Kids Church, restrooms or any other area of importance for you and your family. Volunteers are always available to assist you with any questions or needs you may have.4. Where is Kaney Kids Church? (Kindergarten - 5th)Kaney Kids Church is located on the south end of our gym on the second floor. You'll take the most important people in the building to the child check in area. Our best volunteers are helping with our little ones so you can focus on having a great experience in the service. Their background checks have been cleared and they been trained through a risk management course. Our leaders will give 100% of their care while making it a fun experience to learn about lessons from the Bible. This will be best 80 minutes of your kid’s day. They will laugh, sing, dance, and learn with new friends and amazing leaders. Our goal is to help you lead your child to become a life long follower of Christ. Since we only have one hour with them a week, we will often give you tools to help with ideas and get you talking at home. Kids deserve our best and know we believe in them. Caring team leaders will make sure every kid feels welcomed and is connecting to other students.5. Where is the Nursery? (Birth - Pre K)The Nursery is located in the main building on the south hallway. While your children are having a great time at Kaney Kids, we want you to have the best possible worship experience as well. That's why we've also provided a nursery for your little ones, ages birth to 4 years. When you bring your little one to our nursery, we'll give you a check-in number that will be assigned to your child. To ensure your child's safety and your peace of mind, this check-in number must be returned when picking up your child. In addition, if your child should need you for any reason, the assigned number will be displayed on the projector screen. 6. What is the worship experience like?The worship team has worked very hard to provide you with an experience and opportunity to connect with God. Our service begins at 10:30 and the worship team plays a relevant style of music that is exciting and passionate. You'll never be without the words to follow along by as they will always be projected on the screen. People engage this time of worship differently; some may clap, others may close their eyes and raise their hands. Still others may quietly worship God without any outward display at all. We encourage each person to worship in their own way.7. What can I expect from the teaching?Pastor Shannon Lewis is first and foremost about relationship. He teaches relevant truths from God's word to lead us into a closer relationship wtih God and one another.8. How long does the service last?We know each persons time is valuable and so we're mindful of that each week. You can expect the service to be concluded by noon each week. Yes, you'll likely be the first to the restaurant!

Senior Saints The Senior Saints is a ministry of First Assembly for those 50 and over. The Senior Saints meet every second Friday of the month to share a meal and enjoy fellowship with one another. The Senior Saints are about more than just eating and enjoying fellowship though. This past year they donated $1000.00 between two of our missionary families for Christmas! If you would like more information on this aspect of our church and how you can become involved in the Senior Saints, contact Anna Issacs @ 281-689-8383.

Kaney KidsAt First Assembly, we creatively teach Christianity, the Bible and the work and person of Jesus Christ. Your child will have many opportunities to apply their natural God given gifts for His ministry. Kaney Kids is a fun, energetic place where children sing, play, learn of God's love through the application of Bible lessons, puppet shows and much more. What We Believe1. We believe there is one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:5) He is sometimes called Jehovah or Yahweh (the Hebrew word for God). He is revealed in three persons: God (the Father); Jesus (the Son); and the Holy Spirit. The three are commonly referred to as The Trinity. (Matthew 28:19) 2. We believe that salvation is available to anyone who believes in Jesus. Jesus is God’s Son. He has always existed. Because of sin, mankind was doomed to die (Romans 6:23). Jesus came to earth as a baby, born to a virgin girl named Mary. He lived a life without sin, and willingly died for us. (John 3:16) Three days later He rose from the dead, He ascended to heaven, and He is alive today. We can know Him personally by believing in Him and asking Him to forgive our sins. 3. We believe the Bible is the Word of God and the ultimate source of truth. The Bible was written over a period of about 1500 years, in three languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic), by 40 different writers, yet it contains an incredibly accurate historical record and an impeccably consistent presentation of Spiritual truth. This is only possible because the words of the Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The greatest evidence of the authority of the Bible is not in historical facts or its consistency. It is found in the obvious result of applying the truths of the Bible to our every day lives. (2 Timothy3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21) 4. We believe that God still works in our lives in incredible ways. The Holy Spirit is still at work in the lives of believers today. In fact, many of the miracles of the Bible still happen and are documented every day. The healing of diseases, the restoration of broken lives, even prophecies and supernatural occurrences, all these things still happen. The reason these things still take place is because the Holy Spirit is still at work in the lives of believers. (James 5:14-16; John 14:12) First New Caney is a part of a global fellowship of churches known as the Assemblies of God.
